High Power Rifle

Rules: Current NRA High Power Rifle rules will govern.
Weapons Allowed: Any Centerfire rifle, military or sporting.
Optical Sights and Scopes: The rifle may have an optical sight (reflective sights are considered optical sights) with a maximum power of 4.5X. Variable scopes with a maximum of 4.5X are permitted. Only commercially manufactured scopes that were produced with a maximum magnification of 4.5X and that have a maximum objective lens of 34mm may be used. If an optical sight is used, the same optical sight must be used in all stages of a course of fire (changing sights is not permitted). The centerline of an optical sight shall be no higher than 3.5 inches above the centerline of the bore.

Eligibility: Anyone 18 years of age or older will be able to compete. You do not have to be a member of the NRA. For those interested in qualifying for the CMP M-1 rifle purchase program, you must hold a current membership in an affiliated CMP club or State Association, be 18 years of age or older and a U. S. citizen. Membership forms will be at the state office for those who need to join the State Association. Louisiana Shooting Association annual dues are $20.00.
Classification: NRA system will be used. Unclassified competitors will fire in the Master class. If there are less than three competitors in a class these competitors will fire in the next higher class.
Entries: Entries will be accepted until relay positions are filled. Preregistered entries will be accepted by mail if received no later than Thursday before match date. Preregistered entries will be assigned position on relay of choice whenever possible. Entries are limited to 10 competitors per relay.

Course of Fire: National Match Course fired at 200 yards. You will be allowed two sighter shots prior to each course of fire.

10 shots rapid fire prone
70 seconds

Equipment needed: Bring your own ground cloth. A spotting scope is permitted as long as it is positioned forward of the shooter’s forward shoulder.

Awards: No awards = Entry fees cover the cost of operating the match only.
